The base model McAfee firewall is the SG300 which provides numerous features including:

- Full VPN Support (IPSec, PPTP, GRE and SSL Tunnelling), with no user licencing requirements
- Automatic failover capabilities
- Anti-virus checking and filtering
- Intrusion detection system (IDS)
- Full Web based management system
Higher models provide multiple WAN or LAN connections, a wireless access point and a higher network throughput.
